THE PRESENT

Crabwood is owned and run by the Oxted, Limpsfield & District Housing Association Ltd., a Charitable Housing Association, and is registered with the Housing Corporation as Social Landlord no.L0691.  Its main objective is the provision of affordable accommodation available to let to elderly people of limited means. The Association is run by a committee of volunteers.

There are 22, unfurnished, self-contained flats at Crabwood. The flats are of a good standard and consist of a living room, kitchen, bathroom and one bedroom. Some are suitable for double occupation.

Residents should normally be between 65 and 85 when they move to Crabwood, be retired from employment and preferably have a local connection either through themselves or relatives. They must be able to look after themselves.

The Association looks after internal decoration, external maintenance, winter background heating and TV licence.  Rents are very fair.

A part time manager lives on the premises who oversees the day to day running of the complex.

There is an attractive communal garden which residents are encouraged to make use of, and are welcome to look after a small area if they so wish.

From time to time social events are organised, such as coffee mornings, garden parties, and a Christmas event.

There is a small guest room, subject to availability and payment of a modest charge.
